What About the Fruit?

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by his fruit.” KJV

For the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit. AMP

Matthew 12:33

People may doubt what you say, but they will always believe what you do. So, what about the fruit?

As I pondered on this scripture and read and reread Matthew 12, I tried to put in words the fruit that I see in my children. I want to be clear that every gift and strength that my daughter and two sons possess was placed in them by their creator. I was given the privilege to water their gifts and encourage their efforts and desires.

I was called by the principal when my oldest son was in 4th grade regarding a fight on the playground. I was told that another young boy was throwing rocks at the girls and when he would not stop…….my son tackled him to stop him. The principal said he could not disagree with my son’s action. That was when I realized the champion for the weak that my son would always be. He has a quiet leadership that others want to follow and a firm resolve on what is right.

With my daughter, I saw teachers/coaches from grade school to college acknowledge her discipline and focus with trusting her in leadership duties. That included designing computer programs, teaching other youth, and athlete of the year. She has a great sense of humor, makes great choices, so I believe discernment is present, and carries a reputation of trust.

My youngest son is gifted with his hands and a risk taker. At the age of 11yrs old, the old vacuum motor stopped and was being discarded. He asked if he could take it apart. And to my amazement he had it running after his tinkering. He is the one that gets calls regarding car problems or computer issues. He lends his expertise to friends in need of help and is an electrician.

I asked myself, am I praising God for the Gifts He placed in my children enough? And……am I praying the birth of gifts and strengths into my grand-children enough?

I am convinced the Lord wants to do something above and beyond what I can comprehend. I encourage you to call forth the plan of the Lord for your entire family. Have a Blessed Mother’s Day month!
