What's Your Name

What’s your name? How many times have you been asked that question? Has there ever been a time in your life you didn’t want to tell what your name was? My father’s name was Leo. Still to this day people come up to me and say, “Oh, you are Leo’s boy!” I have to say it makes me proud. My father was a good man who loved the Lord. He was always helping someone. Big shoes to fill! I wonder sometimes if I have always filled them.

One of the most important things my father did for me was to teach me about my heavenly father. He taught me how to live to bring honor to His name. The name of Jesus.

One of our classic family sayings is, “Don’t bring shame to our family name.” My momma told me that every time I left the house. “People know who you are,” she would say. “They know who your father is.” Do people know who your father is? We have heard the message about letting our light shine, showing the word who we are and who our father is. We are the child of King. That brings with it some responsibility. We should never want to bring shame to that name. The name of Jesus. Know who you are. Know your name and don’t be afraid to tell someone. Let’s bring honor to our father every second of every hour of every day of every year for the rest of our life.
