Would You Be Called a Servant of the Most High God

Read Acts 16:16-24

Paul and Silas go to prison in Acts 16, and many times we look at the story as the miracle of the prison doors flying open and the chains coming off. Do not get me wrong, because it is a great miracle. Why did they go to prison? Paul and Silas were being led by the Holy Spirit and not shying away from the world's expectations. In Acts 16:16-18, a female slave predicted the future, earning a great deal of money and she continued to follow these men of God, calling them Servants of the Most High God. She knew something was different about these men.

17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." 18 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her.

When I read these verses the question hit me: Would people follow me around addressing me as a servant of the Most High God? Does the Holy Spirit radiate out of you so much that even the lost know something is different about you? We must live so that the enemy knows we are Servants of the Most High God. It is not the time to shy away and fit into the world’s standards, but we must be set apart and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us.
