You Are Not Alone

Sometimes in this sinful world we are living in, it feels like we’re the only ones left who seem to care about right and wrong according to the Word of God. Or it seems as followers of Christ we’re fighting a battle that we’re far outnumbered and committed saints of God are dwindling.

In 1 Kings 18-19 we see the prophet Elijah struggle with this perspective of his current circumstances while King Ahab was king of the Israelites. Three different times he states, “I alone am left.” It appeared from his viewpoint that all of the Israelites had forsaken God and had bowed down to Baal. However, we find out the truth of his circumstances when God reveals His perfect plan in 1 Kings 19:18, “Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.” 7,000 is definitely not alone, plus God had a plan for 2 new kings, which meant new leadership, and lastly God had Elisha in mind to be Elijah’s protege.

When it seems we’re fighting alone in this world, it’s only because we are only seeing our perspective instead of knowing God just hasn’t revealed His perfect plan. You can rest assured, you’re not alone.
