Your Thinker

What does Proverb 23:7 mean?

As he (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he. Another translation states, “As a man thinks in his heart, so does he become.”

Your mind is the leader of all action that takes place.

Romans 8:5 shows us: For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and see those things which gratify the Holy Spirit.

It’s first a choice and then a decision…our actions are a direct result of our thoughts. Your mind is a battlefield as Joyce Meyer puts it. In Ephesians 6:10 Paul commands the Ephesians and us to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Then, tell us to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Every day the wiles of the devil want to bombard your thought life. The definition for wiles is…Greek-methodeias, mental games, schemes, various methods as verse 12 states. These tactics are used to deceive, entrap, enslave, and bring doubt to the souls of people. Remember your souls is…your mind, your will and emotions. Jesus states in Matthew 4:4 that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Romans 12:2 is the key to a productive thought life and being strong in the Lord.

…And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Here are a few verses to memorize and know:

Isaiah 26:3

Romans 8:6

Joshua 1:8

Philippians 2:5

II Corinthians 10:4-6

I encourage you to think like God’s word tells us to think. Think on things above as Colossians 3:1-2-10 tells us.

You are built for VICTORY!
