Leap

Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. Luke 6:23 Ok everyone! You are always asking for more time. Now you have it. A whole extra day in this year! What are you going to do with your extra time? Leap year is basically a way to keep the calendar in line with the Earth’s movement around the sun and we are so used to the extra day that we plod along as any other normal day. It can be a normal day but it can also be a joyous day. It is a choice that you make when you get up in the morning. This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 The children sing a song called Leap of Faith. These are the words of t

Going Out Fighting

I have heard that phrase all of my life. I used it a couple of times when cancer invaded my body. I told everyone at the end of life’s journey, I want to fight. I believe all of us are at that point. I feel the second coming of the Lord is very close and he knew we would be in a battle. He told us how to prepare. He said in Ephesians 6:13, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day. He said to get a helmet, a shield and a sword. Get ready to fight. Stand and fight! Take time to read Ephesians 6:13-18. Those are fighting words. He also told us to talk to him about the plan of attack. He said in Ephesians 6:18, Praying always with all pray

Mercy

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9: 11-13 Mercy is defined by the Webster Dictionary as: compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one’s power; also: lenient or compassionate treatment. I am so thankful that in the pit of my own unforgiveness, I was shown mercy and forgiveness from My Heavenly Father. He brought me out of darkness to show me the light. When readi

Legions of Angels

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24 (NASB) I was reading my devotion passage from the Bible this morning from Matthew 26:26-46. I was so moved that I couldn’t stop reading. I continued to read about Jesus’ betrayal and arrest. It is so amazing how you can read the same scripture over-and-over again and each time gain s

My Bad Hair Day

When I crawled out of bed one cold winter morning, my hair was standing up and out in many unusual directions. I quickly brushed it, put a warm hat on my head, and went for a walk. My hair looked even worse when I took the stocking hat off after arriving back home. No amount of brushing would settle my hair down. It was definitely a bad hair day. The day’s agenda included church attendance and lunch with friends at a restaurant, so those unruly hair follicles needed a radical change. While taking a shower, I also washed and conditioned my hair. It was then easily styled to complement my face. There have been other times when I had a bad day, and it wasn’t my hair that was the problem. It was

The Battle for Our Minds

1 John 1:7 says: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Satan has worked hard throughout human history to try to get us to fear him. The Bible says that “the whole world lies in his power” (1 John 5:19), and through this influence he has shaped movies and books and images and campfire stories and music, which all appear to show him as this “equal but opposite” power to God. But the truth is that he is the father of lies – he is a created being just like we are and is nothing like God. He can’t read your mind, he can only be in one place at one time, and he can only operate within the boundaries that God sets. He is firmly on a leash! He would

A Different Way of Thinking

Today I would like us to put everything into perspective. I say this because there will be some that I am speaking directly to and in God’s perfect timing you will be reading this at the exact time that you need it. It is far too easy to see the struggle, the oppression, and the giant standing before you. When Goliath is breathing down your neck and all you have is a prayer and a couple of rocks to throw at him we often give up. I want to share with you something that my father has taught me and is something that has developed me into someone who doesn’t see the giant before me, but the God who is behind me. Let’s take what you are facing and put a different spin on it. One of the names of G

The Anchor is Him!

Peace has permeated your being, as you have taken hold of “Whom” lords and occupies your being! I have paved and, if allowed, branded a benedicted (blessedly prearranged) life span in the making, for the Beloved, whom especially appropriates the Word- divinely climatizing your pensive wonderings, digesting the manna that heals, and establishing My good will upon your midst... as your communion with Me impresses your being; thus giving a sight, a pulse, an appetite, an anointing like My Savior Son, the anointed One, JESHUA. The Word incarnates-embodies-sanctifies- the enquirer whose life purposes have grown to the “motto” of: touching a soul, or mass(es) WITH the love that has transformed y

Faith to Forgiveness and Healing

Are you missing something? Do you have wounds? Scars that no one can see? I do, as I know if you are human we all have some sort of wound or scar. Whatever yours may be, there is healing.... Do you want healing? I know I do. Do you have obstacles or as I call them speed bumps in your life? Do you ever wonder what it would be like to not have these and just be whole? “Lord, I want to be whole!” has been the cry of many of our hearts in the midst of hardship and suffering and even sicknesses. Most of our trials are related to our relationships with others. Despite our devotion to God, depression, discontent, anger, bitterness, and frustration these are all symptoms indicating that we have “poo

Signs of Satan

Satan is not the opposite of God. (Job 1:16) Satan is under the authority of God and man. (Matthew 4:1) (1 John 5:18) Satan cannot force people to act. (Acts 26:18) Satan cannot read our minds. He only knows what we speak. (Isaiah 40:28, 1 Kings 8:39, Psalm 94:11) Satan does not know the future. He only knows what he has been told. (Isaiah 46:9-10) Satan does not know your mission or dream. (Daniel 2:27-28) Satan is a coward. (Genesis 3:15) (John 10:10) Let’s quit giving Satan any credit or authority and start taking responsibility with the knowledge and ability in Christ.

Giving Your Testimony

I recently gave my testimony at our restoration connection gathering. I felt like it paled in comparison to the last person who gave their testimony, but I was asked to share it so I was obedient with it. I was so surprised when one of the members of the class told me how it had “spoke” to them and also to someone in the class. It helped that person connect in a way that if I had not shared, maybe they wouldn’t have understood what the Lord is speaking. Scripture is clear that we are to spread the good news and we are to share our story with others. Revelation 12:11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so muc

Root and Fruit

How is your aim?... I guess it depends really on what we are shooting for. The topic for me is Faith, Faith aimed at the wrong target is worthless. Faith that is based simply on your personal gain can really end up leaving you empty. I can share countless stories of people who appear to have it all together on the outside, but on the inside are fighting battles and swimming upstream 100 mph (getting nowhere). Their focus on faith is off-target, and that comes from our relationship with God. Now don’t take this is wrong, it is very important to work (aim) for yourself in your daily walk with Christ. However, it is equally important to aim our faith at those around us in life who are hurti

Today, Where do I Look...I Look to the Book!

Psalm 119:24 – Thy testimonies also are my delight; They are my counselors. Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Colossians 3:16 – Let the Word of God richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. God’s Word has an answer for EVERYTHING! Today, look to God’s Word for your answer. Remember to ask God for help.

Spiritual War

I often find myself in situations that I don’t believe will ever work out for good. All I see is blasphemy, greed and manipulation all around me. As I reflect on these situations, God reminds me that the people involved are not my challenge. It is not flesh against flesh, but righteousness against worldliness. (Ephesians 6:12) It is Christ’s perfect, holy and right way against evil that comes from the serpent. Once I acknowledge this spiritual war, I am refreshed in knowing that God has given us authority to crush the serpents head. (Genesis 3:15) The serpent can only bruise our heal. It is my choice on whether I let the bruise cause me to stumble and fall.

Friends

Valentine’s Day. The day to show our friends and loved ones just how much we love them. This day is filled with messages of love to family and friends. Our grandchildren are making valentines for everyone in their class at school and church. They have lots of friends. It seems at a young age just about everyone we meet is our friend. Children make friends fast. They can meet for the first time and minutes later be playing like they have known each other forever. I remember taking Kenlee to the park when she was 5 years old. There were other kids there playing. It didn’t take her long to find a “new friend”. She was always sad when we left and wanted to know if she could go back “tom

Get You Off of Your Mind

Kind of a funny title but it was one that was slipped into my mind. This past month has been a month of fasting and today I would like to have a certain focus of letting our own thoughts, desires, and plans go and focus on Jesus. As I was reading the passage below in the message translation I had one of those awesome moments of God redirecting my thoughts. I am going to open a can of worms here but this is something that I have been chewing on for a while. And I hope not to cast a false idea but it is what I have been dealing with so I believe in 100% transparency. When I think of the body of Christ I think of the body as a whole. Two hands, Two eyes, Two feet etc. How would the body of Chri

White Lightening!

In perfect angelical language you have reached Mine ears; deep and wide has been the berth and heaviness of your travail, covering the vastness of troubles and discord across the country, and far beyond! I, the Lord, am the answer and provider to all needs. I use My children to bless... among other things, but you are to come to Me, the One who entirely “composed” you, with every concern and trouble- so as we intimate, you’ll have the answer. When you pray, the expanse of penetration touches nations and generations! The purposes of the kingdom -“you could say” infuse in real time people AND circumstances. Distinct is kingdom power, that availeth the good unto perfection to the believing sons

Curses or Blessings

Did you know that in the old testament that God had warnings or “curses” for disobedience and rewards or “blessings for obedience? You may wonder what on earth that has to do with today and how it would apply to your life now? Let’s look at what the Lord told His people. Deuteronomy 28:15-20 Curses for Disobedience 15 However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you: 16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country. 17 Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed. 18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calve

Claim the Power

In Genesis 3:15, God foreshadows His coming. He also tells Satan that He is giving man dominion over evil. Jesus, during His ministry, numerous times tells us that we have authority over Satan. I encourage you to read a few of these verses: Luke 10:19, John 4:16, John 16:7 and Mark 1:8. God also tells us that He dwells in us as a helper: 2 Corinthians 13:5, Romans 8:10, Galatians 1:15-16 and Colossians 1:27. We also have the Holy Spirit empowering us: Acts 5:32, 2 Corinthians 5:5 and Galatians 3:5. I encourage all believers to think about and claim the power and authority in us based on these scriptures. I also want to encourage us all to remember the most important aspect of this li
